I want to write the NAVLE. How do I register?

Step-by-step guide

Case #1: I am a final year student of a AVMA-COE accredited program:

  1. Register to become a NEB candidate, see: How do I register with the NEB?
  2. Once your application is complete and approved you will get a NEB candidate ID.
  3. Fill out the NAVLE application form for international candidates, see link #3 on this page: Where can I find the registration forms? - make sure you select the correct testing region and indicate if you need special accommodations or not. For special accommodations you will need to submit supporting documents before the application deadline.
  4. About six to eight weeks after the NAVLE application deadline you will receive an email from Prometric with your scheduling information.

Case #2: I am already a NEB candidate and have graduated from a non-accredited school:

  1. Make sure you are eligible to take the NAVLE by having passed the BCSE first.
  2. Fill out the NAVLE application form for international candidates, see link #3 on this page: Where can I find the registration forms? - make sure you select the correct testing region and indicate if you need special accommodations or not. 3. About six to eight weeks after the NAVLE application deadline you will receive an email from Prometric with your scheduling information.

Case #3: I am a final year student of one of the Canadian veterinary colleges:

  1. Your school will send us a list of all eligible final year students.
  2. Fill out the NAVLE application form for students of the Canadian veterinary colleges in the appropriate language (English or French): https://www.canadianveterinarians.net/resources/examining-board-navle-registration-canadian - make sure you indicate if you need special accommodations or not. Graduates from accredited schools that need more than two attempts to pass the NAVLE will also have to pass the PSA/CPE before being issued a Certificate of Qualification.
